Carol Maidlow was born and raised in London, England, and came to the United States in 1965. She worked as an office manager/bookkeeper for about 19 years in both the craft and construction industries before she got an accounting position with the Federal Government and for the next 12 years worked at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California followed by 8 1/2 years for the Defense Finance and Accounting Services in San Bernardino, California. She retired in 2005 and moved from Redlands to Yucaipa.

Upon retirement Carol took up watercolor painting and studied with Anita DeCarlo at the Redlands Art Association. After moving to Yucaipa she started taking lessons from Sharon Rachal at the Yucaipa Adult School. She joined the Yucaipa Valley Art Association in 2009 and was the Artist of the Year in 2013. Carol enjoys painting watercolor landscapes and descriptions of her life in her native land, England.
